Terms of Use

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Welcome to Lil Red Wagon (“we”, “us”, “the site”), a place to read scripture and related writings, highlight them, take notes and compare passages. These terms are the agreement between you and the site about using lilredwagon.org. By using the site or creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What the site is

Lil Red Wagon is an independent reading project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any church or religious organization, including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Names of books, churches and publications are used only to say what a text is.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
  • We ask you to confirm your email address. Until you do, you can read, highlight and take notes, but some features (importing, publishing, the AI assistant) stay closed.
  • You can delete your account whenever you like by writing to [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

3. Reading texts and accuracy

The texts here come from many sources and editions, some typed, some scanned and read by machine (OCR). They may contain errors, omissions or differences from the printed edition you use. Where we know the source and licence of a text, we show it on that library’s page. The site is provided for reading and study, not as an authoritative edition and not as religious, legal, medical or other professional advice. Check anything that matters against a trusted printed source.

4. Your content

You may add your own content: highlights, notes, notebooks, imported books and libraries.

  • You keep ownership of what you create. You give us permission to store it and show it back to you, and, only for a library you choose to publish and we approve, to display it publicly on the site.
  • You promise that you have the right to add whatever you import: it is your own work, in the public domain, or used with the owner’s permission or a licence that allows it. Do not import material you do not have the right to share.
  • Private libraries are visible only to you. Publishing is by request and we review each one before it appears; we may decline, edit or remove anything for any reason, including copyright concerns.
  • Your notes and highlights are yours alone; we do not publish them.

5. Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • upload anything unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, deceptive or harmful to others, or that contains malware;
  • create accounts by automated means, or use bots, scrapers or other tools to copy the site’s content at scale or to get around its limits;
  • try to access other people’s private libraries or data, or probe or disrupt the site’s security;
  • use the site to send spam or to impersonate someone.

We use rate limits and other measures to keep the site working for everyone.

6. Copyright

We respect copyright. If you believe something on the site infringes yours, please follow the process on our Copyright and DMCA page. We remove material that infringes and may close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe.

7. The AI assistant (when it is switched on)

If the site offers an AI assistant, it answers questions using passages from the libraries. It can be wrong or incomplete, and it is not a substitute for reading the text. What you type and the matching passages are sent to an AI provider to produce the answer (see our Privacy Policy). Do not put sensitive personal information into questions.

8. Paid books (if and when they are offered)

Authors may offer books for sale through the site. Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not see or store card numbers. Terms of each sale, including refunds, will be shown at checkout.

9. Third-party sites and services

The site links to and relies on other services. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

10. No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or end any part of the site at any time.

11. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Josh Kirk is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the site. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; if the change is significant we will tell signed-in readers by email or a notice on the site. Using the site after a change means you accept it.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the site’s operator lives, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms: [email protected].

Copyright and DMCA

Lil Red Wagon respects the rights of authors, translators and publishers, and expects the people who use it to do the same. This page explains where our texts come from and how to report something that should not be here.

Where our texts come from

Each library’s page names the source and licence of its text where we know them. We aim to host only texts that are in the public domain, are used with permission, or are offered under a licence that allows it. If you can see that we have got one wrong, tell us (below) and we will look at it promptly.

Reporting infringement

If you are a copyright owner, or authorized to act for one, and believe material on the site infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent containing:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. a description of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
  3. the exact address (URL) of the material on lilredwagon.org, so we can find it;
  4. your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Email: [email protected]

Please note that a knowingly false claim of infringement can make the person making it liable for damages (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

What we do

When we receive a valid notice we act quickly: we remove or disable access to the material and tell the person who added it (if it was added by a reader). We may also remove material on our own when we learn it is infringing.

Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you have the right to use it, you may send a counter-notice to the agent above containing: your signature; a description of the material and where it appeared before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed because of a mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice. We will pass your counter-notice on and, unless the complainant tells us within 10 to 14 business days that they have started a court action, we may restore the material.

Repeat infringers

Accounts of people who are repeatedly found to have uploaded infringing material will be closed.
